Seems like due to continuous lock downs and restricted travel, the patients traveling to India for their treatment have gone down drastically. The patients that we see now a days are those, which desperately need life saving or have gone bad while getting treated locally. In last 3 months, most of the cases that I have seen are for advanced and metastatic cancers which have been attempted for a treatment locally but have not been successful. This is a sad situation and beyond the pandemic we should add these cases to casualty numbers as well. I wonder what happens to those babies born with congenital heart defects and could not be operated locally?
My urge to all the patients remains, do not wait and do not worry about your travel. It is still safer to travel than to face consequences of not traveling.
